Centrality of the Gospel
The gospel is His power for salvation to everyone who believes.
Romans 1:16
It is through this gospel power that we ask God to work in and through us, to see many more
people
come to trust in Jesus across this land and beyond.
At Ev Church, we know we are weak. Yet we are deeply confident, because God is strong. The news
of
Jesus’ life, death, resurrection, and ascension may appear foolish to the world, but it is God’s
power for salvation.
This gospel, the good news of Jesus Christ the Lord, defines who we are and fuels everything we
do.
We are convinced that God works by His Spirit through His living and active Word.
The apostle Paul reminds us that all over the world, “the gospel has been bearing fruit and
growing”
(Colossians 1:6). When people truly understand God’s grace in Jesus, life is brought where there
was
once darkness. And as Paul urges, “Just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, so continue in
Him”
(Colossians 2:5–6).
The gospel is not only the beginning of the Christian life. It is the means by which God keeps
us,
shapes us, and grows us to the end.
