Come as you are
Whether it is your first time at church or you have been going for years, you are welcome at Ev. If you are looking for a church in Auckland, we would love to meet you this Sunday.
What to expect
What actually happens in a service?
Here's the whole thing, start to finish. No surprises.
1. We sing.
The Ev band leads us in songs of praise, with the words up on screen. Sing along, or just take it in. Whatever is comfortable.
2. We hear what's on.
The MC shares what is happening in the life of the church. At morning church, a Kids leader gives a short talk for the kids before they head out to Ev Kids.
3. We open the Bible.
We pray and read a passage of the Bible together. Then one of our pastors preaches an encouraging, hope-filled message about Jesus from that passage. This is the heart of the service. We're convinced God speaks through his word, so we give it our best attention.
4. We sing again, and we eat.
A final song, the MC closes, and then we share food together, with morning tea or dinner depending on the service. All up, allow about 75 minutes, plus time to chat.
Bringing kids?
Ev Kids runs every Sunday morning at North and Central for children aged 1 to 12. Careful check-in, matched pick-up, and police-vetted, trained leaders. Allow an extra ten minutes on your first visit.
Will I be asked to stand up, say anything, or give money?
No, no, and no. You're our guest. Nobody will single you out, and the offering is for our church family, not for visitors. Come, watch, and weigh it up for yourself.
